Aydin Suleymanli Triumphs in Al-Madinah Young Masters Online Tournament

In a thrilling conclusion to the Al-Madinah Young Masters Online Tournament, Aydin Suleymanli emerged as the champion by defeating American chess talent Christopher Yoo in the finals. The online event, held from December 4th to 7th, brought together 16 exceptionally skilled players under 18 from around the world.
The final, which took place on Thursday, December 7th, at 19:00 CET, saw Suleymanli demonstrating his immense talent in a variety of game modes, including rapid, Chess 960, and blitz. Despite a valiant effort from Yoo, Suleymanli's strategic prowess secured his victory.

Marc Quenehen, impressed by Yoo's performance, analyzed his noteworthy victory against Volodar Murzin. A historical nod, Yoo employed the East Indian Attack, an opening favored by the legendary chess champion Bobby Fischer.

The Al-Madinah Young Masters Online Tournament serves as a precursor to the grand Jeddah Chess Festival, scheduled from January 24th to 29th, 2024, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
